ABOUT

Synopsis

When a South Florida trailer park is slated for closure by its owner, Trinity Broadcasting Network – the world’s largest Christian TV station – the residents have until the end of the year to fight the eviction or find new homes. In Last Days on Lake Trinity, three friends navigate this crisis with humor, compassion, and resilience.

Last Days on Lake Trinity reveals corporate cruelty, religious hypocrisy, and a mounting housing crisis for older Americans.

The Issue

Older Americans are the fastest-growing age group experiencing homelessness, with The Wall Street Journal reporting that “old people on fixed incomes are overwhelmed by the high cost of housing and other financial shocks” at levels "not seen since the Great Depression.” Estimates suggest that by 2030, the number of older adults experiencing homelessness will triple; by 2038, an additional 4 million older adults with low incomes will have no access to affordable housing.
